Arthurs Rock Loop

Enjoy a moderate hike to a great overlook in Lory State Park any time of year.

[edit] Route Description

The route can be done as a 3-mile out-and-back, or 3.3-mile lasso-style loop. There are a number of intersections, all well signed:

1. Mile 0.1: Cross the Upper Valley trail. No horses or bikes allowed beyond this.
2. Mile 0.3: Pass the Overlook trail on your right.
3. Mile 0.6: Pass Miller Creek trail on your left.
4. Mile 0.9: Pass the alternate route (the lasso loop point) on your left.
5. Mile 1.5: A spur trail heads right to the summit. On the way back, go right again to continue the loop.
6. Mile 1.7: Take the alternate return trail on the left.
7. Mile 2.4: Rejoin the main trail, head right back to the trailhead.

[edit] Getting there and parking

Follow these directions from Bellvue, Colorado to a dirt parking area. You may need to stop at the park entrance to buy a parking permit.

There is currently a $5 per vehicle entry fee imposed by Lory State Park.
